Merle Wiehl, a sophomore from Germany, had another big weekend in helping the Cougar women to their 11th straight win. Merle had 30 points with 6 treys in a win over Central Wyoming. She then had 19 points and five treys in a win over Sheridan College. Merle now has 882 career points and needs just 145 more to break the career scoring record of 1,026 set by Penny Mallet in 1981-83. Merle is also nearing the career 3-point record. Merle currently has 91 career 3-pointers, including 52 this season, and needs 28 more 3-pointers to break the record by Lyndie Pucket in 2013-15.
