WNCC basketball game Friday will help Golden Family

Golden Family home on fire.

Western Nebraska Community College athletic department will be doing their part to help the Golden Family after their home was destroyed by a fire Tuesday evening during the Region IX First-round women's basketball game with Trinidad State College on Friday, March 8 at 6 p.m.

Spectators coming to the game will receive free admission to the game when they donate items to help the Golden family. Lillian Golden, the daughter to Robert and JoAnn Golden whose house was destroyed, is a member of the WNCC Cougar Dance Team. The Golden's house was totally destroyed in the fire along with all their personal belongings. While many things can be replaced, the memories and photos cannot. While the family was not at home at the time, their pet dogs didn't survive the fire.

Anything that can help the family is acceptable. You may donate food, hygiene items, clothes, blankets, money, etc., and it will all help. Clothing sizes include women's sizes include 2x-3x clothes, adult medium and large clothes, and size 10-11 shoes; while men's sizes include adult small, large and IX and shoe sizes 11/12 and 7.

So, come out and watch the Cougar women in their Region IX tournament game with hopes of advancing to next week's Region IX tournament in Casper, Wyoming, and help a family that lost everything in a fire. Let's pack Cougar Palace Friday night for a good cause.
