WNCC men win third straight

Trent Harris                 COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The Western Nebraska Community College men's basketball team won their third straight with a dramatic win over the Air Force junior varsity 75-74 Friday night in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

The win was highlighted by Trent Harris, who knocked home the winning 3-pointer, giving the Cougars their seventh win of the season.

WNCC coach Cory Fehringer was pleased with how his players delivered at the right time.

"We played some good basketball and some not so good basketball," he said. "Players delivered at the right times. We've been lacking winning plays at winning times. Collectively, members of the team made tough plays to help us be successful tonight."

Air Force junior varsity is a team the kids are older, some travel with the varsity, and also practice with the Air FOrce Falcon varsity team, Fehringer said.

No other statistics were available for the game.

WNCC will look to wrap up the season with a game Saturday against Fort Carson Army Base in Colorado Springs. The Cougars will then take the break off before returning to action Jan. 2 when they travel to Northwest Kansas Technical College.
