Western Nebraska scored two more in the third but again, the Scotties answered with two runs of their own the same inning. A three run 6th would seal the deal for Highland as they went on to win 11-7 over the Cougars to start of the four-game weekend stretch.

Haley Donaldson had a big day going 2-4 with four RBI's, two runs scored and one home run. Kenzie Garvin continued to hit the ball well going 3-4 and scoring two runs.

SATURDAY, GAME 2

The Scotties scored one run in the 2nd taking a 7-3 lead. A Northeast four run 3rd inning tied the game 7-7. Northeast followed that inning up with a three-run 4th, taking the lead 10-7.

Kennadi Barron hit her second home run of the day, this time a solo shot in the bottom of the 5th. A sacrifice fly by Haley Donaldson scored Sam Moran and Highland trailed by one, 9-10 heading into the 6th inning.

Northeast took a two-run lead into the 7th-inning after scoring one in the 6th. Kennadi Barron, Sam Moran and Kenzie Garvin each hit back-to-back-to-back singles to start the inning. Garvin's single scored Barron from second cutting the deficit to one run. Another single by Maddie Moore would load the bases for Highland. In the bottom of the 8th, Haley Donaldson hit walk-off single to score Sam Moran and win the game 13-12.
