LCCC Men’s Basketball Suffers 103-92 Loss to Western Nebraska

SCOTTSBLUFF – Laramie County Community College jumped out to a lead midway through the first half against Western Nebraska Community College but could not hold onto it falling 103-92 Tuesday night at the Cougar Palace in Scottsbluff, Nebraska. Three Golden Eagles scored in double figures as LCCC drops to 1-4 on the season.

Western Nebraska is now 3-3 on the year.

Midway through the first half, the Golden Eagles jumped out to a 10-point lead before Western Nebraska was able to regain the lead go into halftime up 48-44.

Damien Perry (North Dartmouth, Massachusetts) led all scorers with 30 points and added four assists for the Golden Eagles. Erik Oliver (Cheyenne, Wyoming) registered 18 points and six rebounds. Mateo Zovko (Mostar, Bosnia) had 15 points.

The Golden Eagles shot 50 percent from field, including 11-of-28 from behind the arc.

Laramie County handed out 14 assists on 33 made field goals, while committing only seven turnovers. The Golden Eagles converted 12 Western Nebraska turnovers into 17 points.

Western Nebraska had six players in double figures, led by James Felton's 25. The Cougars shot 52.9 percent from the field.

Up next for the Golden Eagles is a Tuesday night match-up against Northeastern Junior College. The 6 p.m. tip-off will take place in Sterling, Colorado.
