Men’s Soccer: WNCC Holds Off CCC

The Central Community College men's soccer team lost at Western Nebraska Community College, 2-0, on Saturday in Scottsbluff.

WNCC's Daniel Matty and Bernardo Torres scored a pair of unassisted goals in the 20th and 33rd minute, respectively.

CCC goalie Joao Victor recorded seven saves on the day.

Despite the loss, CCC head coach Hawken Hanna remained positive.

"I am really happy with the way our defense played," said Hanna. "Goals came from a penalty kick and a shot directly from a free kick so none of the goals came through the run of play. The big challenge for this coming week is to step up our offensive production."

The loss is the second straight for the Raiders and gives them a season mark of 6-4-1.

CCC will return home for a Friday afternoon contest against Western Wyoming Community College. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. at the Raider Soccer Complex.
