2nd Annual Coach Collins Heart of a Champion Memorial Classic

Northwest College is hosting the second annual Coach Collins Heart of a Champion Memorial Classic November 17-18, 2023.

Coach Collins had significant experience in college basketball, working with teams at Idaho State University, Northern Arizona University, Cochise College, and the University of Texas-Pan American before he and his wife Sheila moved to Powell. A jokester with an infectious sense of humor, Jay was beloved by his colleagues and student-athletes. He was a player's coach and would often greet them with a 'bro hug' and unique punchline. His passion for coaching basketball, booming laugh, and easygoing demeanor will be greatly missed on campus.
A basketball memorial scholarship has been established to honor Coach Jay Collins and his legacy.
