Female Athlete of the Week for Week Ending April 8 -- Jenika Fuentes-- Female Athlete of the Week for the Week Ending April 8 --

Jenika Fuentes, a sophomore from Sweetwater, Texas, tied a 14-year record on April 7 when the sophomore scored six times in the Cougars' 40-4 win over Ft Hays Tech Northwest. Fuentes went 3-for-5 from the plate with two walks. Fuentes scored twice in the first and third innings and once in the second and fourth. She was left stranded only once in the game. Fuentes holds the record along with Jacqui Cappuccill, who scored six times in a game with Wyoming in 2011.

Clay Brandon, a red-shirt sophomore from West Herriman, Utah, had a near perfect game in a 1-0 win over Lamar on April 6. The sophomore right-hander went all seven innings and allowed just one hit while striking out 10. The only hit, though, was erased right after that as Clay fielded a bunt fly and threw to first for the double-play. He only faced 21 batters in the game.
