TRINIDAD, Colo. – The Trinidad State women's soccer team dropped two region 9 matches over the weekend to Western Nebraska on Friday and Laramie County on Saturday at Central Park.
GAME 1: Western Nebraska 6, Trinidad State 0
The Cougars managed an early 4-0 lead over the Trojans by halftime after TSC gave up 2 of those goals by penalty kicks. Trinidad State gave stronger defensive efforts in the second half and gave up 2 goals to suffer a 0-6 loss.
Keeper Angelica Quintana Aficial (So., Commerce City, Colo.) registered 10 saves off 16 shots on goal from the Cougars.
GAME 2: Laramie County 9, Trinidad State 0
The Golden Eagles jumped out to an early 9-0 lead over the Trojans by halftime and never looked back.
Quintana Aficial played 45 minutes in the goal and managed 8 saves off 11 shots faced while teammate Stephanie Bak (Fr., Pueblo, Colo.) played 30 minutes in the net with 3 saves off 6 shots faced. Roxie Rodriguez (Fr., Pueblo, Colo.) finished out the time in goal with 3 saves off 6 shots faced.
Trinidad State will play it's final home match of the season at Central Park this coming Friday at 1 pm for a Region 9 matchup against Western Wyoming. The Trojans will finish off the season with the final two matches on the road against Garden City and Otero.
