Simon Echeverry, a sophomore from Bogota, Colombia, helped the Cougars to a semi-final win over LCCC last Saturday 1-0. Echeverry recorded the assist as he showed his team-play in dishing off the ball to a wide-open Eduardo Oliveira with under eight minutes to play for the 1-0 win and move the Cougars into the Region IX Finals against Otero that will be played in Scottsbluff November 2. Echeverry has scored just one goal and two assists this season but it is overall play on the field that makes him a key member.
