The Central Community College Men's Soccer team lost to Western Nebraska Community College, 2-1, on Friday afternoon at Raider Field.

Following a scoreless first half, the Raiders logged the game's first goal when Mark Ackerman scored off the assist of Lorenzo Costa Cardoso to go up 1-0. CCC was later assessed with a red card and with one player down, the Cougars took advantage and scored two unanswered goals for the 2-1 final.

"Overall, I think the boys are starting to see that they have a chance to compete against these teams," said CCC head coach Luis Pulido. "I just comes down to mental mistakes and who is going to make less mistakes."

The loss evens CCC's record at 1-1.

The Raiders return to action on Wednesday night with a showdown at Northeast Community College. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
