WNCC men shut out Montana State club team

                GILLETTE, Wyo. – Ygor Brito scored twice and the Western Nebraska Community College men's soccer team had its way with the Montana State club team in posting a 7-0 win Saturday in Gillette, Wyoming.

                WNCC moves to 2-1 on the season and will battle Dakota County Tech College Sunday in Gillette, Wyoming.

                Saturday's contest was all WNCC from the beginning. The Cougar jumped out to a 2-0 lead after the first 10 minutes. Washington Junior scored the first goal just five minutes into the game off an assist from Sal Aguilar. Five minutes later, Aguilar netted a goal off assists from Jorge Rojas and Bernardo Torres.

                WNCC added one more goal in the first half as Luis Martinez scored in the 40th minute off an assist from Rojas to give the Cougars a 3-0 lead at halftime.

                Brito scored his first two goals in the first 10 minutes of the second half. The first game in the 52nd minute off a deflection of a defender. Brito added his second goal two minutes later off an assist from Aguilar.

                Torres and Daniel Matty mopped up the scoring with the final two goals. Torres' goal came in the 65th minute off an assist from Aguilar. Matty's score came with four minutes to play as the sophomore took a pass from Matheus Lima for the final score.

                WNCC finished with 31 shots in the contest compared to two for the Montana State Club team. WNCC had just three corner kicks.

                Richard Gutierrez started in net for the Cougars and had one first-half goal. Ruam Barbosa was in net in the second half and had zero saves.
