Weber named NJCAA Player of the Week

                Western Nebraska Community College freshman softball outfielder Haille Weber was named the OC Sports NJCAA Player of the Week for the week ending March 20.

                Weber, a graduate of Silver Creek High in Longmont, Colorado, hit .700 in four games last week against Luna Community College and Southeast Community College. Weber finished the four games with three triples and two home runs with 11 RBIs and eight runs scored. In a game on Sunday against Southeast, Weber finished with a triple and a walk-off grand slam in the 11-0 win.

                On Tuesday in games at Columbus against Central Community College, Weber went 6-for-8 with three doubles, a triple, two home runs, and six RBIs. She missed hitting for the cycle in game two by a single in the second game against Central, finishing the game with a double, triple, and two home runs.

                Weber is hitting .510 on the season with eight home runs, seven triples, 15 doubles, 53 RBIs and 50 runs scored.

                The Cougars, 24-6 on the season, will be back in action Friday when they travel to Beatrice to take on Southeast Community College before coming home to host McCook Community College on Tuesday at 3 and 5 p.m.
