RIVERTON, Wyo. – The Western Nebraska Community College women's basketball team put three players in double figures and had another strong defensive game in downing Central Wyoming College 80-42 Saturday in the final day of the Wyoming Community Bank Classic in Riverton, Wyoming.

The win moves the Cougars to 10-2. WNCC has now won three straight as they return home for a pair of contests next weekend when they face the Nebraska All-stars on Friday and then McCook Community College on Saturday.

WNCC had another strong shooting contest, connecting on 49 percent from the field. WNCC made just three 3-pointers in the contest.

Central Wyoming's shooting was off the mark, making just 26 percent from the field and three 3-pointers.

Offensively, the Cougars were sharp. Zeynep Canbaz led the way with 16 points, including two 3-pointers. Rakovic also tossed in 14 points while Gonzales had 10.

WNCC pretty much controlled the contest, racing to a 19-12 first quarter lead and then 30-20 at halftime. WNCC opened the third quarter red hot, scoring 26 points to lead 56-34 after three periods.
