CHEYENNE, WY - The No. 14 ranked Laramie County Community College Golden Eagles (10-2-2) beat Western Nebraska (2-9-1) 3-1 on Wednesday afternoon.
The Golden Eagles entered play winners of their last three games and took a first-half lead when Delaney Knottnerus (Gillette, Wyo.) headed in a cross off the foot of Jenaya Brown (Edmonton, Alberta) giving the Golden Eagles a 1-0 lead in the 31st minute. The goal was the first of Knottnerus' career.
Andi Hunsicker (Douglas, Wyo.) once again found the back of the net, scoring a goal in the 51st minute to extend the Golden Eagles' lead to 2-0 with her fourth goal of the season.
Mattiese Loreton (Caves Beach, Australia) extended the lead to 3-0 in the 55th minute, her second of the season.
The Golden Eagles are back in action on Saturday, hosting Casper at 3:30 pm.
