WNCC men’s, women’s soccer teams down Pratt

                GREAT BEND, Kan. – The Western Nebraska Community College men's and women's soccer teams picked up wins Saturday over Pratt Community College in Great Bend, Kansas.

                The Cougar men opened their season with a nice victory over Pratt, winning 3-2, over one of the more talented teams in the Jayhawk conference in Kansas.

                The WNCC women, who went 0-1-1 last weekend against Trinidad and Otero, broke into the win column with a dominating 3-1 win over Pratt.

                The women rolled to a 2-0 halftime lead on two, first-half goals by Marissa Dahlvang. One of Dahlvang's goal was unassisted and the second was assisted by Brittany Hunsley.

                WNCC added an insurance goal in the second half by Eden Washington off an assist from Allison Parker.

                The WNCC men held a slim 2-1 lead at intermission. Guilherme Oliveria scored the first goal off an assist from Matheus Ricardo. Matheus Campos scored the second goal as Ricardo picked up his second assist of the game.

                After intermission, both teams scored a goal in the second half. The Cougar's goal came from the foot of Oliveria in netting his second of the match. Billy Hoffmann assisted on the second-half goal.

                WNCC will face Barton Community College Sunday in Great Bend, Kansas, to wrap up the weekend slate of games.
