  • WNCC baseball drops two to Barton
    February 23, 2020
    The Western Nebraska Community College baseball team dropped a pair of games to Barton Community College on Saturday to close out the four-game series. In the first game, WNCC managed just two hits in falling to the Cougars from Kansas 10-0. The second contest saw WNCC score three runs early, but Barton was too much in registering the 12-4 game two victory at Cleveland Field.
  • WNCC baseball team drops home games

    The Western Nebraska Community College baseball team dropped a doubleheader to Barton Community College in the Cougars’ home opener at Cleveland Field on Friday. The first game saw Barton score five times in the fourth to open a pitcher’s duel to earn the 7-0 game one victory. The second game, which was a 9-inning contest, saw WNCC jump on top 3-0 on a 3-run Orey Fricke home run, but Barton came back to score nine runs to take the 9-6 win.
  • WNCC tops Lamar for first win of season

    LAMAR, Colo. – The Western Nebraska Community College baseball team received strong pitching and clutch hits to register a 2-1 win over Lamar Community College on Monday in Lamar, Colorado. Paul Panduro had five hitless innings before giving way to William Potter, who allowed no runs and just two hits to get the win. Panduro struck out five in his five innings of work, while Potter struck out three. Elliott McNeave picked up the save in his inning of work where he struck out two.
  • WNCC falls to Dodge City, New Mexico Institute

    ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – The Western Nebraska Community College baseball team opened the season with two heart-breaking losses in the ABA JUCO Weekend powered by Five Tool Classic in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The Cougars scored two in the first in the opener against Dodge City Community College, but then saw Dodge City come back to earn an 8-3 win. The second game saw WNCC mount a late comeback but it wasn’t enough as the Cougars fell New Mexico Military 6-4.
  • WNCC baseball falls twice on Sunday

    ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – The Western Nebraska Community College baseball team dropped two games at the ABA JUCO Weekend powered by Five Tool Classic in Albuquerque, New Mexico, to close out the classic. WNCC allowed four runs in the sixth inning as New Mexico Military used that big inning to register a 10-4 win in the opening game. The Cougars then managed just three hits in an 8-2 loss to El Paso Community College to wrap up the classic.
  • WNCC baseball ready to open season this weekend

    The season didn’t end the way the Western Nebraska Community College wanted it to a year ago and this year’s team is anxious to go out and finish that unfinished business from a year ago. The Cougar team was one out from capturing their second Region IX title, but in the end, Lamar Community College came back to top WNCC in the first title game and then won the if-necessary game to earn the regional title.
  • Alliance’s DuBray signs with WNCC baseball

    Alliance’s Trevor DuBray always knew that he wanted to play baseball in college. He will get that opportunity after signing with Western Nebraska Community College on Tuesday. “I have been around them a long time. I met Coach [Mike] Jones when I was probably seven. They are good guys and I like the program,” he said. “It is beyond exciting to be playing college baseball. It has always been my dream and I can’t wait.”
  • WNCC baseball to hold evaluation camp Nov. 3

    Western Nebraska Community College baseball coach Mike Jones will hold a baseball evaluation camp on Sunday, Nov. 3 for 2020, 2021, and 2022 graduates. The evaluation camp will give the baseball player an evaluation of their baseball skills. WNCC baseball coaches will evaluate players and provide instruction on a variety of baseball skills, including but not limited to swing mechanics, bat speed, pro-agility, 30/60 dash, pitching mechanics and velocity, infield mechanics, and catching mechanics.
